Next year, as WOW marks its 40th anniversary, we will premiere our most ambitious exhibition yet at Tākina Wellington Convention and Exhibition Centre.

More than 50 rarely seen garments will be brought together in a large-scale, immersive  experience, spanning four decades of wearable art. The WOW Exhibition will feature standout early works alongside recent award-winners from Aotearoa and around the world.

FOLLOW A WOW GARMENT JOURNEY

Devised by WOW’s creative team with design by Wellington-based Gibson International, the experience will see visitors follow a garment's journey from sketch, to stitch, to the stage of Aotearoa New Zealand's largest theatrical spectacle.

Alongside the garments themselves, the exhibition will celebrate the makers and materials behind some of the world’s best wearable art, offer hands-on interactive elements, and include dedicated education content for schools.

“The exhibition gives visitors of all ages the chance to get up close to WOW’s award-winning wearable art collection and go behind-the-scenes in a deeper way than ever before. It is theatrical, creatively interactive and promises to leave you awe-inspired.” Meg Williams, WOW’s Chief Executive.
