The World of WearableArt Show is a world-class theatrical extravaganza seen by over 60,000 people over three weeks in Wellington. The stage comes alive with incredible works of wearable art, dancers, aerialists, captivating music, and moments that will take your breath away.
We believe WOW should be for everyone. Available in 2023 are fantastic positions for wheelchair users with reduced pricing and optional companion tickets, an NZSL signed performance of the Awards Night for our deaf and hard of hearing community, and an allocation of affordable 30 Under 30 tickets for our younger audience members.
The show is held at the TSB Arena in the heart of Wellington city. Only an 8-minute walk along the waterfront from Te Papa and a 10-minute walk from Wellington central train station. There is a drop-off zone at the front of the TSB Arena, and a car park at 1 Jervois Quay beneath the venue, with accessible parking options.
Be inspired by a weekend in Wellington for WOW. Below are great food and drink spots, accommodation, and travel options to add to your itinerary.
If you have a question that you still don’t have an answer for, have a look below, we have included answers for the show, ticket types, and more.
What is a preview?
A preview is a full run of the show in costume, from beginning to end. In theory the director can stop the performance at any time to make changes but it very rarely happens. Our two previews are your chance to see the show before everyone else. It’s great for the budget conscious but good to be aware that competition winners are not announced in these performances.
How long is the show?
Based on previous shows, the performance will be approximately 1hr 45mins. There is no intermission.
The Awards Night show includes an awards ceremony which runs for an additional 40 minutes (approximately). On all performances following Awards Night ) there will be a short AV presentation of the awards results after the performance which will take approximately 15 minutes.
I am looking for accommodation in Wellington, what do you recommend?
We recommend our Partner hotels, QT Wellington. For further options we suggest you visit WellingtonNZ.com.
What parking facilities are available?
There is a car park below the TSB Arena, operated by Wilson Parking. Charges apply. This car park can get very busy, so please allow yourself enough time to find parking elsewhere. If travelling by taxi, we recommend Wellington Combined Taxis - 04 384 4444.
Can I take photos, video footage or use my cell phone during the show?
The use of videos, cameras, tape recorders and cell phones is prohibited during the show. We do however provide opportunities pre-show in the WOW HUB and with pre-show entertainment to capture your WOW experience.
Please be considerate of audience members and turn your cell phone off before the show starts.
