The Residency Experience Award
In 2019 we announced that World of WearableArt was partnering with The Residency to offer an exciting new Award for the World of WearableArt Awards competition.
Located in Hollywood, The Residency Experience is dedicated to assist emerging and established designers in taking their brand to the next level.
Co-founded by Kent Belden and B. Akerlund, The Residency Experience is a full service public relations agency that specializes in celebrity and editorial outreach. The Residency Experience collaborates with celebrity stylists, editors, costume designers and influencers. Services include celebrity placement, print and digital editorial placement, and generating social media content.
This Award is presented to a designer whose entry exemplifies exceptional cutting-edge design.
The winner of this Award will be chosen by revolutionary fashion activist, stylist and costume designer, B. Akerlund.
The winner receives NZD5,000 and the opportunity to show up to five pieces of their work at the exclusive Residency Experience showroom in Los Angeles for a three-month period, during which time their work will be given exposure through the Residency social channels. The winner will also receive a travel prize of NZD2,500 to enable them to visit the Residency showroom in LA.
