HP Supports Design For the Environment with WOW Sponsorship
HP New Zealand is taking to the catwalk with the announcement of its sponsorship of the 2005 Montana World of WearableArt (WOW) Awards Show in Wellington later this year.
In addition to being a major sponsor of WOW, HP will offer the ‘HP Planet Award’. This special award will go to the designer who creates the best garment using recycled materials across any of the shows seven sections.
“WOW is an iconic New Zealand event and we are thrilled to be involved,” says Jeff Healey, Corporate and Enterprise Marketing Manager at HP New Zealand.
“Innovation is the heart of everything we do, and WOW embodies the best of New Zealand’s creativity and inventive spirit.”
“The HP Planet Award will recognise those designers and artists who like us, think about the environment at the start of their design process. The alignment between this award and our longstanding Design for the Environment programme and our leading global recycling initiatives is excellent.”
Gabrielle Hervey, Chief Executive of WOW agrees. “We are delighted to have HP on board as a major sponsor. They represent an ideal fit for us because of their commitment to innovation and the environment.”
“As HP’s Design for the Environment programme creates products that are kinder to the environment, it’s fitting that HP is acknowledging the creative use of recyclable materials with this special award.”
The winner of the HP Planet Award will receive $4000 and the designer of the Highly Commended entry will receive $1000.
WOW is an annual event featuring creations from artists from New Zealand and throughout the world. These are presented in a unique two-hour long show of choreography, music, lighting and special effects.
HP joins other major sponsors Montana, Tourism New Zealand, Air New Zealand and American Express.
