It is rapidly getting to that time again! The 2006 Montana WOW® Awards Show is fast approaching and for those of you entered into the show, we wish you the best of luck. Below is some important information for designers who are attending the show on Awards Night and for any of you who will be in Wellington during show time.
Format for Awards Night – 8pm, Friday September 22nd
To those of you whose garments were selected to exhibit in the show please re-read the information you received in your selection pack. In this pack (was outlined) the process was outlined for accepting an award in the instance that you win – please ensure you are familiar with the stage entrance and exit points, and where to receive your award on the stage.
Post Show Designer’s function – 11pm till late, Friday September 22nd
This function is open to all designers (selected and unselected) who entered the 2006 Montana WOW® Awards Show. Please come along to the Loaded Hog ballroom after the Awards Ceremony on Friday 22nd September. The Loaded Hog is situated behind Shed 5, opposite The Events Centre now known as the TSB Bank arena on Queen’s Wharf. The Designer’s function is a great opportunity to meet fellow designers and have a quiet drink or to celebrate your success until the early hours! You are welcome to bring guests who attended the show with you to this function.
WOW® Judges Forum – 11am, Te Papa Marae, Saturday September 23rd
The WOW® Judges Forum, held annually at the Te Papa marae, Wellington, enables designers to query the judges on any questions they may have and to find out tips and tricks on entering a WOW® garment. This is free to both designers and the public. This is also an opportunity for designers to give us ideas for sections for the 2007 show!
Wellington Quilter’s Exhibition
The Wellington Quilter’s Guild is hosting the annual Quilt Exhibition from September 21 to October 1st. This exhibition is conveniently located at Academy Galleries on Queen’s Wharf. Entry costs $5.
Return of Entries Unselected garment entries from the 2006 Awards will be returned free of charge by the end of September via Mainfreight. Designers – you will be notified when your garments arrive at one of the three main centers in your area.(their nearest Mainfreight depot.) You will need to pick up your garment from the depot or alternatively arrange for delivery from Mainfreight.
Designers whose garments were selected for the 2006 show will be emailed by the end of October. This email will notify designers if we are retaining their garment from the 2006 show to go on exhibition in the WOW Gallery.
Any garments not selected to be retained by WOW (as per the entry kit) will be returned by Mainfreight in the same way as above by mid November. These designers will be notified early November if their garment is being returned.
International entrants who have not sent return freight money are to contact WOW to arrange for the return of their garments.
2007 Entries
The 2007 Entry Kit will be sent out in mid-November. Keep an eye out in the post for it and if you haven’t received one by the end of November, please do not hesitate to contact heather@worldofwearableart.com. Please remember to tell your friends to email us if they wish to obtain a copy too!
